# VTEX payment flow

> Understand how an Alignet One transaction flows through VTEX.

## Flow of payment

The following stream describes how a transaction will be processed when a client pays at your store VTEX using Alignet One.

## step by step

1. **Selection of payment method**\
   The client chooses Alignet One at the check out of VTEX

2. **Initiation of payment**\
   VTEX invokes the connector Alignet One

3. **Authentication (3DS)**\
   It's run 3-D Secure if applicable

4. **Authorisation**\
   The transaction is sent to the processor (Visa / Mastercard / others)

5. **Response**\
   The result (approved or rejected)

6. **Checkout result**\
   VTEX shows final status to client

## Result of transaction

* **Adopted** → Confirmed order
* **Rejected** → Other means of payment requested

## Considerations

* 3DS run by issuer's rules
* The response time depends on the processor
* The flow is clear for the merchant
